On the morning of his 66th birthday, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested at Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. The former prince was taken to a police station in Aylsham where he was questioned on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He has since been released under investigation, as stated by Thames Valley Police.
In response to the arrest, King Charles III emphasized, 'the law must take its course'. Despite these events, the King and Queen have continued their Royal duties without interruption.
The arrest followed a statement from Thames Valley Police indicating they were evaluating a complaint regarding the alleged sharing of confidential information by Andrew with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and has not provided a comment to the BBC concerning specific allegations tied to the January release of millions of Epstein files.
