Panasonic, once a leader in the plasma TV market, is ceasing production of its own TV sets. The company has announced that it will hand over the manufacturing, marketing, and sales of Panasonic-branded TVs to the Chinese company, Skyworth.
Based in Shenzhen, Skyworth is a notable TV brand, known as “a top three global provider of the Android TV platform.” According to a July report by research firm Omdia, Skyworth ranked among the top-five TV brands by sales revenue in Q1 2025, though it has struggled to maintain this position consistently.
